Recently, the “Uniting Global Enterprises for a Better World: ESG+20 Pathways to Sustainable Development” Expo was held in Shanghai to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 10 principles laid down by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Zhou Qiang, CEO of CSAIL, Secretary of the Board of Directors of CTGI, shared CTGI’s ESG practices at the event.
Since 2011, CTGI has been investing in clean energy projects globally, including hydropower, wind, and solar projects. In 2023, its First Wind Power Project in Pakistan was included in the Private Sector Case Studies on Advancing Corporate Sustainability Towards High Quality Belt and Road Cooperation to Facilitate the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by the UNGC.
The project is expected to generate approximately 3 billion kWh of clean electricity over its entire operational period, reducing carbon emissions by 2.98 million tonnes and saving 1.2 million tonnes of coal.
The company has also taken a series of measures concerning biodiversity protection, pollution control, employee development, and community initiatives to support local sustainable development.
