2024 annual meeting of Chinese National Committee on Large Dams held in Yichang, C China's Hubei Province

The 2024 annual meeting of Chinese National Committee on Large Dams (CHINCOLD) and the 5th International Symposium on Dam Safety was held on Tuesday in Yichang, central China's Hubei Province, where the Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydropower project, is located.

The two-day event, jointly hosted by the CHINCOLD, the Brazilian Committee on Dams, the Spanish National Committee on Large Dams, and the United States Society on Dams, and co-organized by CTG and other organizations, brought together nearly 900 experts and scholars from more than 20 countries to discuss dam safety, construction, and sustainable development. CTG participated in every link of the event.

Safety and resilience of reservoir dams, impact of digital technology on dam construction and how dams can support the development of low-carbon, sustainable energy systems remained the focus of the event, which was themed "Building Safe, Resilient and Green Large Dams for National Water Network."
