CTG reintroduces over 700,000 Coreius guichenoti into Jinsha River
Date: 2025-01-06

At the end of last month, more than 700,000 juvenile Coreius guichenoti were released into the Jinsha River, the upper section of the Yangtze River, in Panzhihua city, southwest China's Sichuan Province.
It marked the largest reintroduction of the species to date. So far, CTG has released over 10 million rare and endemic fish into the lower reaches of the Jinsha River.
The Coreiusgui chenoti, a representative species of rare and endemic fish native to the upper Yangtze River, is under second-class national protection in China.
After overcoming technical challenges in the artificial propagation of this species, CTG has been able to produce this fish in large quantities since 2020.
In 2024 alone, CTG released over one million juvenile Coreiusgui chenoti.
