CTG-assisted konjac cultivation brings prosperity to villages in Wushan county, SW China's Chongqing Municipality
Date: 2025-03-22

Konjac, a plant rich in dietary fiber, produces edible tubers that can be processed into various delicacies. While konjac is highly popular, its cultivation requires advanced technical expertise and management.
In 2024, with support from CTG, Wushan county in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality introduced cutting-edge technologies to establish a 67-hectare konjac cultivation base alongside 3.3 hectares of standardized greenhouses for high-quality konjac seed breeding, accelerating variety selection and efficient cultivation practices.
"Scientific methods throughout the entire production cycle have led to remarkable results in just the first year," said Jiang Xuekuan, an executive of the base.
The base's average konjac yield has surpassed 66,100 pounds per hectare, improving livelihoods for many villagers. This humble plant is now nurturing greater hopes across farmlands.
In recent years, CTG has continued to support Wushan county by building nine village-level storage and cold chain logistics platforms for citrus and Wushan crispy plums, along with supporting orchard facilities, making rural life more convenient and fulfilling.
