The CTG PV project builds ecological barrier in Kubuqi Desert in N China's Inner Mongolia
Date: 2025-06-25
In the Kubuqi Desert of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, CTG's Phase I photovoltaic (PV) power project at its solar and wind power base is advancing power generation and desertification control simultaneously.
By integrating efficient mechanical drilling, precision drone seeding, and smart irrigation, the project has achieved a vegetation survival rate exceeding 85 percent, while reducing water consumption by 70 percent.
To date, over 2 million shrubs have been planted, increasing vegetation coverage in the project area to over 40 percent and reducing wind speeds by nearly 50 percent.
Supported by green technology, the shifting sands of Kubuqi are steadily being transformed into a living ecological barrier.
