CTG's Yangtze River cascade power stations meet surging summer demand in China
Date: 2025-07-14
As scorching heat sweeps across many parts of China, power demand is surging. More than 100 generating units at the cascade power stations on the Yangtze River, operated by CTG, are now running at peak capacity, marking a new high for the year.
Last month, daily power generation exceeded 1 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) for 21 consecutive days, delivering strong support to the grid.
With flood control and water supply safety as top priorities, six major hydropower stations are being jointly managed and precisely operated to ensure a stable power supply during peak summer demand.
