Date: 2025-09-22

On September 20, the Three Gorges Reservoir experienced the largest flood event of 2025, with inflows surpassing 40,000 cubic meters per second.

In preparation for the peak, CTG had earlier lowered the reservoir water level to 162.6 meters, reserving flood storage capacity.

During the flood, outflow was controlled at 25,300 cubic meters per second under full-power operation, ensuring the safety of both upstream and downstream areas while maintaining smooth coordination with ongoing water storage.
