CTG's 1 GW solar thermal and photovoltaic integrated project in NW China's Xinjiang connected to the grid at full capacity
Date: 2025-09-24
CTG recently achieved full-capacity grid connection for its 1GW "Solar Thermal + Photovoltaic" Integrated Energy Demonstration Project in Hami, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The project adopts Linear Fresnel technology, a key concentrated solar power method, capable of providing stable electricity for up to eight hours.
During the day, the photovoltaic (PV) system supplies electricity directly, while at night, the solar thermal system takes over, creating a complementary clean energy hub alongside the PV station.
The project is expected to generate an average of 2.067 billion kWh annually, saving approximately 620,000 tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.63 million tonnes each year.
