The world's first 100 MWh-class digital energy storage power station passes demonstration acceptance in N China's Inner Mongolia
Date: 2025-09-29
On September 24, the world's first 100 MWh-class digital energy storage power station—the 50 MW / 100 MWh digital energy storage demonstration project—successfully passed acceptance in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, marking China's transition from research to large-scale application in digital energy storage technology.
The project was led by CTG’s science and technology research institute and developed in collaboration with Tsinghua University.
It has been operating safely for over a year since its commissioning in June 2024.
The facility consists of 46 storage containers that can be flexibly combined like "power banks." Its modular design enables quick fault isolation, ensures system stability, and extends battery lifespan.
