The world's largest clean energy corridor surpasses 4 trillion kWh in cumulative power generation

The world's largest clean energy corridor, comprising six cascade hydropower stations along the Yangtze River, surpassed a cumulative power generation of over 4,000 billion kWh on Oct 17. This is equivalent to saving over 1.14 billion tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 3.2 billion tonnes.

The corridor, consisting of six major hydropower stations — Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Three Gorges, and Gezhouba — spans 1,800 km with a total installed capacity of about 71.7 GW, generating an average of 300 billion kWh annually.

This clean energy corridor showcases China's experience in large-scale hydropower development and its contribution to a greener, more secure energy system.
