Three Gorges Reservoir hits 175 meters, achieves 2025 storage target
Date: 2025-10-27
The Three Gorges Reservoir reached 175 meters on Oct 24, completing its 2025 storage target for the 14th time since 2010. Reaching 175 meters is the reservoir's maximum normal operating level, ensuring sufficient water during the dry season to meet downstream needs for production, daily life, ecology, and navigation, with daily outflows above 6,000 cubic meters per second.

CTG has balanced water storage and flood safety, through precisely timing each cycle of storage and release, showcasing advanced scientific scheduling and coordination. This record-breaking achievement lays a solid foundation for sustainable water use and regional development.
