CTG powers desert restoration and clean energy at COP30
Date: 2025-11-18
At COP30 in Belem, Brazil, China is showcasing detailed, transparent and actionable roadmaps, demonstrating real determination and capability to tackle the climate crisis.
In recent years, China has pioneered a desertification control path that aligns with natural laws and local realities, restoring 53% of treatable desertified land and achieving a net reduction of 65 million mu (about 4.33 million hectares). A key example is CTG's Kubuqi Solar PV Sand Control Project in Inner Mongolia's Ordos. The project installs 2 GW of solar panels across 100,000 mu (about 6,667 hectares) alongside an equal area of ecological restoration, generating clean energy, enhancing grid flexibility, accelerating desert ecosystem recovery, and providing a replicable model for PV-driven sand control in arid regions.
