A giant "power bank" has officially gone online!

Date: 2025-12-26

On Dec 25, the first unit of the Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station in Zhejiang, China — built by CTG — was connected to the grid. With a single-unit capacity of 425,000 kW, it is currently the largest of its kind in China. More than just a power plant, it acts as a stabilizer for renewable energy — storing electricity when wind and solar output are high, and releasing it during peak demand. This kind of "invisible" infrastructure is what makes large-scale renewable energy integration reliable.
