Lifting thousands, sailing steady: Operational excellence of the Xiangjiaba shiplift

With the annual cargo throughput reaching 1.5767 million tons, the Xiangjiaba shiplift has surpassed design targets for six consecutive years. This excellence is anchored in maintenance efficiency, minimizing downtime while maximizing safety. For example, using self-developed specialized tools, the Xiangjiaba plant has completed its largest-ever overhaul in just 35 days.

Both technology and talent provide the vital engine for this progress. From advancing seven research projects and securing 35 authorized patents to fostering expertise through an integrated "training-practice-competition" system, we have continuously enhanced operational stability — securing 331 days of safe operation in 2025 and setting a new record for average cargo capacity on single downstream voyages.
