50,000 Chinese sturgeons returning to the wild

Date: 2026-03-31

On the 6th Chinese Sturgeon Protection Day, CTG released approximately 50,000 artificially bred Chinese sturgeons of various ages in Yichang, Hubei province. For the first time, the third filial generation of Chinese sturgeons joined the fleet, marking the maturing of the large-scale breeding and releasing system. This release will accelerate the application of the "artificial + natural" integrated conservation model, laying a solid foundation for restoring wild populations and enabling the species' self-sustainability.
