Blue-tailed Bee-eaters arrive along the Jinsha River

Date: 2026-04-25

Every April, the Blue-tailed Bee-eaters (Merops philippinus) make their long journey from Southeast Asia to the Wudongde reservoir area along the Jinsha River.

To safeguard their nesting habitats, CTG has partnered with universities and research institutions to carry out nesting site restoration and construction. More than 300 birds have nested and bred successfully in the restored sites, effectively boosting the population and preserving biodiversity.
