Date: 2026-04-29
New wild populations of Plantago fengdouensis have been discovered along the Yangtze riverbanks in Sichuan province and Chongqing. With an extremely limited distribution, this nationally protected endangered plant is an important species for biodiversity conservation.
For over a decade, CTG has carried out field surveys across the Yangtze basin, conserving 2,160 rare plant species and over 32,000 specimens ex-situ. More than 27,000 Plantago fengdouensis plants have been cultivated, with over 8,300 successfully reintroduced into the wild.
