Brazilian youth experience the charm of Peking Opera

As 2026 marks the China-Brazil Year of Culture, a special cultural workshop at São Pedro Theatre in São Paulo brought 348 students from the Guri Music Project closer to one of China's most iconic traditional art forms — Peking Opera, ahead of the National Peking Opera Company's Brazil tour.

 From embroidered costumes and vivid facial makeup to Chinese percussion, singing techniques and graceful water-sleeve movements, the workshop offered young Brazilians a window into the artistic world of Peking Opera, allowing them to appreciate the distinctive charm of this UNESCO-listed traditional Chinese art form.
