Changlongshan pumped storage power station supports grid stability over five years

Five years, more than 29,300 unit start-stop cycles, over 78,166 operating hours, and 11.4 billion kWh delivered to the grid.

On June 25, the Changlongshan pumped storage power station in Zhejiang province marked the fifth anniversary of its first power unit entering operation. With a total installed capacity of 2.1 GW, it stands as East China's largest operational pumped storage facility to date.

From daily grid regulation to major power supply tasks, the station continues to provide peak shaving, valley filling, frequency regulation, reactive power support, and emergency backup services. It has also supported key power supply tasks during the Hangzhou Asian Games, the China International Import Expo, summer and winter peak demand periods, safeguarding the secure and stable operation of the East China power grid.
