Date: 2026-07-14
10 years ago, CTG Brasil began operating of the Jupiá and Ilha Solteira hydropower plants on the Paraná River. Today, the two plants have become a model of China-Brazil cooperation in clean energy.
Over the past decade, CTG Brasil has completed major upgrades to 12 generating units at the two hydropower plants, combining Chinese hydropower expertise with Brazilian and international standards. These upgrades have significantly improved operational reliability, with a combined availability rate of 95.6 percent in 2024. They continue to supply clean electricity to Brazil's grid, meeting the annual electricity needs of more than six million people.
Beyond power generation, CTG Brasil actively supports local development and community engagement, implementing more than 70 community projects in the surrounding areas and benefiting over 67,000 people.
