High-tech "inspectors" power PV patrols
Date: 2026-08-24
Drones on patrol, robots on duty — meet the high-tech "inspectors" making PV operations smarter at Wuwei Guangsheng PV power station in Gansu province.
Here, a drone can autonomously take off, change its own battery, follow 28 preset routes across the solar field and upload inspection data. This routine has cut inspection time in half, from two weeks to just one.
It doesn't work alone. The drone works with wheeled inspection robots, rail-mounted robots, more than 90 cameras and 150 wireless passive temperature sensors to form a smart monitoring network with nearly 5,000 inspection and observation points, making equipment conditions easier to track and manage.
