Fish release and protection in Brasil
CTG Brasil, a prominent leader in clean energy generation in the country, released 250,000 fish of the pacu and curimbatá species in the reservoir of the Jupiá Hydropower Plant on the Paraná River in May 2023.
The fish used in the restocking program are produced at CTG Brasil’s Fish Farm in Salto Grande (SP). In addition to fish production, the laboratory conducts research in collaboration with universities.
Since 2016, when CTG Brasil assumed responsibility for the program’s management, around 25 million fish have been released in the basins of the Paraná and Paranapanema rivers.
