How about the comprehensive benefits of the Three Gorges Project?
As a critical backbone project for the administration and development of the Yangtze River, the Three Gorges Project is a water conservancy and hydropower project that undertakes the most comprehensive tasks around the globe. Through scientific regulation, the project can deliver massive comprehensive benefits in flood and drought control, water supply, fishery, tourism, power generation, and so on.
Flood and drought control and water supply: After the Three Gorges Project is completed, the flood control standard of the most vulnerable Jingjiang Section in Jianghan Plain will be improved from preventing once-in-ten-year flood to preventing once-in-a-century flood, as a result, a population of 15 million and some 1.5 million hectares of farmland can be safely protected.
Navigation, fishery, and tourism: The impoundment of the Three Gorges Project has greatly improved the navigation conditions of the riverway of the Chuanjiang River, a part of the Yangtze River, enabled a 10,000-tonnage fleet to directly reach Chongqing, and has cut shipping cost by more than one third, turning the Yangtze River into a Golden Waterway.
The Three Gorges Hydropower Station has also facilitated the state grid, playing a positive role in gaining benefits from peak staggering among different areas, compensative regulation among hydropower stations, and capacity exchange between hydropower and thermal power as well as in ensuring the reliability and stability of electric power.

三峡工程建成后综合效益有哪些?

三峡工程是一项规模宏大的综合性水利水电工程,不仅具备不可替代的长江防洪功能,在发电、航运和水资源配置等方面也发挥着显著的效益,堪称“功在当代、利在千秋”的伟大工程。
防洪是三峡工程的首要功能。三峡水库拥有 221.5 亿立方米防洪库容,可将下游荆江河段的防洪标准从“十年一遇”提高到“百年一遇”。2010 年、2012 年和 2020 年汛期,三峡水库多次对超过70000 立方米每秒的特大洪峰进行了成功的拦洪削峰调度,极大减轻了长江中下游的防洪压力,保障了人民群众生命财产安全。
作为世界上总装机容量最大的水电站,三峡电站总装机容量达 2250 万千瓦,设计年均发电量 882 亿千瓦时,是我国最大的清洁能源生产基地。三峡电站每年发出的清洁电能,相当于少燃烧 3000 万吨标准煤或 2500 万吨原油,减少约 1 亿吨二氧化碳排放以及大量的粉尘、二氧化硫、氮氧化物等污染物排放,带来巨大的节能减排生态效益。截至 2020 年年底,三峡电站累计发电量达 13992 亿千瓦时,源源不断的三峡电力点亮了万家灯火,兴旺了百业千城。
三峡工程的建成,使得长江成为名副其实的“黄金水道”。上游 660 千米险滩密布的湍急河段变成了深水航道,通航能力与安全性显著提高。三峡水库枯水期补水可增加下游航道水深,明显改善枯水季节的长江中下游航运条件。三峡工程的建成,使长江航道的货运能力提升了 5 倍,运输成本明显降低,运输效率明显提升。三峡工程的兴建不仅加快了长江流域综合运输体系的优化调整,还吸引了产业布局加快向沿江地带集聚,为长江经济带建设和生态绿色发展提供了重要战略支撑。
在水资源配置方面,三峡工程正在发挥着显著的效益。利用三峡水库的库容调度可以实现“蓄丰补枯”,为沿江及我国北方缺水地区提供水源保障。每年枯水季节,三峡水库可为长江中下游补水 200 多亿立方米,可有效发挥保障中下游生产生活用水、保障航运、维护生态、南水北调等工程效益。
